Possible Infections

I am wondering about 2 possible infection I could have. I apologize for not posting a picture.

1. In one of my jars there is a little black dot on the subtrate. This is the 8th day and the mycelium all around the subtrate is doing great. I just noticed the dot a few days ago but I think it is just some little thing I got in while preparing the jars. I am no expert though.

2. This possible infection is very tiny brown speks on the mycelium itself. It doesn't seem to be growing either.

Is the black dot raised like a pin? Do the brown spots look like vermiculite particles or raised dots...or is it coloration of the mycelium itself? Does it have a pinkish look at all?

It doesn't have a pinkish look. It lookes raised and there is now mycelium growing directly under and around the black dot.

The other black specs are way smaller and are grown on the mycelium also. Everything else seems to be going good. The temp is at 80.

I apologize. I didn't see the contamination thread. It must have been added not too long ago (I just started comming to this board frequently again). I posted it in the contamination thread.

speaking of pinkish look.
My perlite in a few spots has a pink tint ot it.
the spots are about 5-6" away from the cakes.
I will also point out that i screwed up and put a metal rack in it that is rusting. could the pink spost jsut be some run off from the rust? or is it a contam? should i be concerned f it is?
