storage life??

I haven't seen this discussed before, but point me in the right direction if i'm wrong. How long is the viable life of stored, dry mushrooms? and at what point would they become inedible due to either... degredation of the psychoactive compounds that you want, or contamination? Also, how will freezing affect the molecules and such?

I've stored them for up to a year with small dessicant pack at the bottom of a mason jar and an oxygen absorber at tip. Use paper towel between the packets and shrooms, left whole and cracker dry. The same as when they went in, so I cant say for sure but a year is a long time to keep.
