First casing,Question.

It has been just 3-days since I started my first caseing(strait verm)It is starting to come threw the verm layer in a few spots.Do I have to cover those spots with more verm?Also one area looks like a shroom triyng to pop out.Is this possible or just wishfull thinking?Is it to soon for the grow chamber.THANK U ALL ONCE AGAIN...

how many spots? if theres more then four that evenly came up then its fine. if there is a shroom popping up already (its deffinately possible) then put it in the terrarium. the first flush prolly wont be too even since some of the mycelium is fruiting and the rest is regrouping.

just because you stick feathers up youre butt does not make you a chicken.

i also have a friend that has his first casing he told me that he cased four cakes one week ago and there are 5 or 6 spots of mycelium showing through his layer of 50/50+ casing do you guys think he should try to initiate pinning in the growth chamber or wait awhile he was thinking its better to be early than late because he wants to avoid overlay. any help or ideas would be great.

hey pj you shoul, oh, i mean youre friend, should start initiating fruiting. a week is long enough for the mycelium to regroup and since theres a few spots its deffinately ready. i would probably give it light for a day also before you do other stuff.
