In a Sea Chest(?)
    #357945 -

Hi-
Abe, brand-spanking-newbie here. Need some help from you gurus.
I am doing my first batch, as per the shroom wizards method. 2 1/2 weeks into inoculated jars, they have nice white stuff happening in all 10 of them. I plan to case them in plastic bins in a couple of weeks.
I need to hide this stuff! I am thinking of converting my big locking sea chest into a terrarium. Would this work? I might get an aquarium light with a timer and a heating pad.

Do I need to seriously ventilate this thing or will a small hole or two work?

Has anyone done something similar?

All feedback and suggestions greatly appreciated.
Abe

you need to provide the casings with fresh air so that it mimics nature, so to answer the initial question, no, one or two holes won't work, but you can open it up abour 4 times a day and use a piece of stiff paper to fan so itll introduce fresh air... my terarrium is completely concealed... it looks like a dresser drawer.... i have air bublers set up for fresh air, and i pull out the drawer about 4 times a day too... but anyways, the air needs to be completely displaced several times per day, although a fan in there would greatly reduce the need since the c02 falls and oxygen goes higher than it... so if u circulate it around theres c02 and oxygen everywhere, so the shrooms still get oxygen just not as much... but anyways, im rambling.. so there ya go...

What if I put a big slat on the back (oh, about 2 feet by 3 inches) with a cover to keep it from prying eyes?
I hear what you are saying about air circulation . . . just need to keep the kiddies out.
