IP tracking
    #3578780 - 01/04/05 11:05 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Can anyone tell me how to get a list of the IP address that have accessed a website I run? Any help much appreciated, I don't know much about this kind of thing.

This will depend on the web server software and the set up of the site.

There should be log files. In Apache they are called access_log.

Do you own and manage the server or is it a host that you are paying some one else for space on? If you are paying for space you will need to contact your hosting provider for the information. If you own and run the server you will need to check the config and find out what the file is called and were it is put.

Ahh, yeah, it's a shitty free hosting deal bundled with my ISP, and I don't think they'd hand over the site logs.

Is there anything I can write in javascript to create a separate log I could access?

There are lots of free hit counters that can provide you with tracking. Here is one that I found just by doing a google search.

I do not know anything about them as I have my own server.
