foul smell when jar(s) opened but now all cakes are white and smell sweet

hypothetical situation involving a beautiful girl and some verm/BRF jars...
Jars were birthed several days ago and the girl who birthed them remembers getting a brief whiff of something that might be wetspot during the procedure. All but one of the cakes were 100% covered in beautiful bright white mycelium for several days prior to birthing. The last jar to be opened clearly had been over-packed with cake material by said girl and got mushy and clearly had wetspot and no mycelium were to be found. Thing is that girl has never done this before and didn't think to be alarmed by the smell but is PRETTY sure in retrospect that bad smell only came from the over-packed mushy wetspot jar. Wetspot jar was the last to be opened and was immediately thrown out to avoid spreading hostile life forms.
In conclusion
Beautiful bright white cakes now live happily together in a rubbermaid tub and upon opening the tub girl is always greeted with a sweet and wonderful smell.
Please tell her that any crisis has been averted and hostile wetspot bacteria are not going to come get her in her sleep.

Sounds like you are fine. Patience is important, time will tell the story, be it good or bad.

Ahhhhh that sweet, earthy, beautiful, aroma of happy cakes. Sounds like she did exactly the right thing. Make sure when you open the tub. That you spray the air around it before hand with some lysol, oust, or alcohol in a spray bottle. This will bring down any rouge spores or dust in the air, and wait a few minutes after spraying before opening. All should be well, here's wishing that beautiful girl a bountiful and healthy harvest.
