First grain try ...need help

Well my FOAF tryed 10 quart jars of rye and it looks as it 2 are definately going to make it and 7 are fucked but there is one thats left that my FOAF don't know about it looks almost like mycleaum running through it but some of it looks like lil white spots instead of fluffy stuff. No, not like the start of normal myceleaum but white spots that other myceleaum takes over or grows around. chances are my foaf won't use the jar in question, he would just like to know what it is ? Also being his first try at grain he's not too diapointed by his poor rate of success. He like to look apon it as a method of shoreing up his methods and wishes other would share in ther learing experiances later all

The little white spots, that were in the jars I did several weeks ago, exploded like a schrapnel grenade and spewed black spores all over the place.

they came from a cantaminated liqid culture which was also used in several other newer jars. I put the jars back in the pc and reinnoculated with spores after several days of observation to see if the contamination recovered. Too soon to say if it worked though.

**And Anno below is correct, I'm not saying eat them. But some sporeprints would be nice. I hate to throw away 3+ gallons of grain.

It?s never a good idea to re-sterilise contaminated jars.

This and a few of the plethora of mold spores or bacterila endospores could survive the sterilisation and contaminate the jars very fast afterwards.
