i heard from somebody on my post which was locked by the dancing gumby that u can bring some water out to the field and water ur patties does this really work?? see thats y i started that post it was goin somewhere like leading to this neat question that i offen wondered but never could find anything on it

If you really feel like watering them every day, maybe. If it's incredibly dry there, don't count it.

I know people who water tree stumps that produce Oyster Mushrooms. That keeps them producing far longer that if they weren't watered. Watering cow patties is probably not going to work quite as well.

my suggestion is to bring out a 5 gallon bucket and pick up some turds that you know have mycelium (like they have some pins, or had some shrooms on them, or whatever) and bring them home and put them in a nice shady spot and water them there. But you can't just go out and water cowpies and expect shrooms to grow. If they don't have mycelium or at least spores of shrooms on them, they won't grow just by being moist.

how long does it take for turds to produce mycelium i havent seen mycelium on these turds since b4 christmas

it would work on rare occassions, under rare conditions. Your better off bringing one home like supernova stated.

maybe creat an environment for your patties, use a big tub full of perlite and treat it like a PF cake...
