I'ver heard of many who only eat either the caps or just the stems. I've also heard some drug folklore about either or being poisonous - that's just sad.

Its funny how common that myth is.. Just to prove a point to a friend, he thought that stems were body buzz no visuals etc... I told him to eat only stems, and I gave him like 3 grams worth... Well I ate only caps, doesn't matter to me, I don't believe this urban myth..

Anyways, he was seeing crazy shit, eventually he had to be watched by some friends since he was tripping really hard... I got quite high myself, not as bad as him :smile:

Next morning I asked him how his body buzz was and I just laughed... He didn't say anything ...... When we argued this the night before he was adiment that stems didn't give you visuals, he told me I was a moron if I didn't know that and I was the webmaster of the shroomery... HAHAHAHA, did it ever feel good to put him in his place...

These stupid stem vs caps rumours, they must stop.... ITS ALL THE SAME....

I eat it all.  I know alot of people that think you can only get off on caps.  I laugh and offer to eat the stems they don't want.  Then later, after tripping balls on 3 or 4 g's of stems, and them only eating about 1g worth of caps, I laugh again and say, "Stems aren't too good.  You should just stick w/ the caps and give the stems to me!" :smile:

I actually heard from someone who said he only eats stems because the caps often contain deadly poisons. I wonder where people come up with this stuff?

There is usually an equal amount of chemical in both the stems and in the cap.

However,
every single dose of mushrooms can hav a different amount of chemicals from mushroom to mushroom. meaning the person next to you could get a little higher than you from the same amount of mushrooms but the difference would really be hard to tell.

All magic shrooms have varying amounts of from 1 to 10 of psilocybine, psilocine, baeocystine and norbaeocystine and various non-hallucinogenic trytamines in them from one degree to another.

Read Beug and Bigwood. 1982. Psilocybin anf psilocin levels in twenty species from 7 genera of wild mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest. Journal of Ethnopharmacology vol. 5(3):271-285.

And for P. Cubensis variations in Cultivated in viteo mushrooms, read Bigwood, J. and Michael W. BEug. 1982. Variation of psilocybin and psilocin levels withg repeated flushes (harvests) of mature sporocarps of Psilocybe cubensis (Earle) Singer. Jopurnal of Ethnopharmacology vol. 5(3):287-291.

Eat the Stems?!?! Eat the Caps?!!? ..... When I go hunting for mushrooms I goto the farmers fields. I pick the mushrooms out of the dung patty's, throw them away and eat just the dung. I always trip balls.

i eat the baseball caps, like I just dont care about them, its a influencial thing, you need to throw off your steam with a ney york yankees baseball cap. The whole stem vs. cap thing might have started from people who put LSD/Opium/PCP under the caps of non-psilocybes and sell them as cub's.

When I firstr ate liberty caps back int he early 1970s, most people who picked them inthe field inNoti, Oregon would eat the caps and throw the stems out.

However they are equal in potency or pretty much so but every twenty shrooms sitting next to each other can have a different varying amounts of chemicals in them form dose to dose.

Does eating the cake really make you trip? I saw a Tek on just growing mycelium and tripping from it but i'm not sure it works. Does it??
