So its time for me to go on to a higher form of education. And i was thinking hey i like food, i like to make it ect. So my question is would goin into culinary arts be a smart move. Ive always been a outdoors guy who doesnt like being inside at all. im tryin to figure is culinary would be a good move for me. Plus what are some good schools for it..and what does the money look like for a chef ect..thanks all

If you love to cook, go for it. A friend of mine is a chef at one of Brennan's restaurants in New Orleans and makes a great living. He went to school and then went up to Alaska and worked as a cook for some oil company where he was cooking for all the guys working on rigs, pipelines, etc. He said that was a great experience and he made good money doing it and after that he felt he could get a job anywhere.

Many more jobs become available after culinary school other than just cheff.

Ive worked in food service all my life and I WISH I would have been to culinary school rather than taking Horticulture at UCD.

I say take it and keep your options open...
