Ig you are looking for a good lam pto grow weed buy a HPS..
The MH (Metal Halide) works better in the growth stage, but the HPS works way better in the flowering stage..
You know, when the little(?) buds appear...
So go for a HPS if you want large juicy buds...

HID = High Intensity Discharge
MH = Metal Halide
HPS = High Pessure Sodium

MH and HPS are types of HID lamps. Your ballast & fixture will dictate what type of bulb you have to buy for it. There are two type of MH bulbs; they're made for either horizontal or vertical hanging fixtures. I believe all HPS lamps are made for horizontal fixtures.

In general, the MH are sort of 'fat' and the HPS bulbs are cylindrical w/ a uniform diameter.

BTW, you probably won't find a bulb over 150 W @ Lowes/Home Depot. Probably have to look around online.

hey 40oz, check out discount hydroponics out of califorina... i looked on the internet for awhile and found them to be very good. cheap prices, quick service, and discreet. i would not personally order any light like that to the house where i plan to grow from any company just cause... i payed $209 i think for a 400watt hps econo grow or something and it was great.. got a good yeild under it. dont worry about a mh. it is not necessary. most of us are on a budget and that wont fit in.....later........
