Psilocybe Cubensis strain database (devel)

Dear shroomery members, I am studying the taxonomy of the unique and valuable species Psilocybe Cubensis. I have begun compiling a database of different strains, which will be made public once it is complete. The database will include pictures, origins, descriptions, and a voting system to determine the most popular. The goal is to systematically map the different characteristics of each strain (subspecies?), in an easy to use and searchable format. I think this database would be a valuable asset to the mycroscopy research community. I am looking for individuals to assist in the intensive data mining that is required. If you have any information that you would like to contribute to this important project, please PM me, or send an email to: acidblue@gmail.com . PS. I plan to list other well known species as well )azure, cyan). A prototype db is available but private, message me if you would like to take a look. Sincerely, acidblue pps; yeah i know, this has been done before to some extent; but i'm taking it to the next step by structuring the data. thanks.

Strains of psilocybe cubensis (equador, B+ orissa india, etc) Physical characteristics (pictures, descriptions) Cultivation information (strictly for reference purposes of course) Here are some of the fields I have: Name Aliases Image Physical Char. Speacial Char. Fruit Size Yield Potency Rating Col. Speed I would like to gather statistics on the potency of the different strains. I plan to have a user voting system (not sure if I will accept public votes due to the quantity and variation) to give each strain a decimal rating for colonizaiton speed, potency, most popular, etc. I will compile the information as best I can. I understand that the data will vary in accuracy due to different opinions and methods of production. There is also the question of wheather there is any difference among strains besides negligable physical characteristics. This is a good way to find out. If we collect enough data we will be able to get approximations at the very least. I understand that data like Yield is highly variable, and possibly unpredictable. I will track it none the less. Hope this helps, acidblue

yes, thanks for repeating again that this has been done before.. however, the sites that I have seen are mostly static and do not allow for users to contribute. If you know of a site that has these strains compiled in a DATABASE, please post the link.
Thanks, acidblue

Hey acid....thats kind of tough, some people jus plain out don't know what they're doing and get bad results, this project could show how some people just don't know what they are talking about....It's a good idea....but... , but, considering that it's half based on mostly idiots....unh, i donno, But giving descripitions on each mushrooms, , that's kool, but you can find that on the net, easily, i can try and find it for you if you're intersted...and hey...how about pming me that prototype ?
Well, good luck

"this project could show how some people just don't know what they are talking about....It's a good idea....but..., but, considering that it's half based on mostly idiots..." haha, yeah. I have taken that into consideration. It may mean that I will have ratings done by select indivuduals and not public visitors, or I could do both seperately. As far as descriptions and pictures; I agree they can be found on the net, but wouldnt it be nice to have everything in one place? At the very least it is worth making a compendium of our very favorite fungus; with all it's variances, sometimes subtle, but always beautiful. sincerely, acidblue
