You need to know your light spectrum a bit

You want Blue light....250 nanosomething
You can buy it at fish stores...it gives off this really intersting blue color and makes the water look intersting...It's the best for mushrooms :thumbup:

But hey, light is definately the least important factor when growing cubes.

Even no direct light and only some kind of indirect lightning from any source a couple hours a day will be enough...

i'm using cheap neons because they were there when installing my setup, not because i planed to use em. Stress with RH and air exchange, not light!

Both, if you mean direct, are bad. Indirect light from either is good but UV rays must be absored by walls and such before hitting your shrooms (ie no direct light)
