Browning cubes?

Greetings people,

I have a quick question about browning cubes. A couple of days ago I went for another mushroom hunt, however the rains have not been as heavy lately and thus there were not as many shrooms. I still found plenty of cubes, However a lot of the ones I had found were a little on the mature side. Mind you, the stems were still thick and juicey and healthy, and the caps thick and mushy, they had simply turned a deep purplish brown due to the sun baking them and their spores having been released. I under stand that they will not be as strong psycho actively at this age, but I picked them because they were much larger than the little ones I had been finding. When I dried them out they turned a deep cracker brown. Not rotten at all.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone think of any reason I should not eat the browned cubes?
