Man you people are literally insane using random proxy servers across the internet. If you are using someone's proxy server then they have access to everything you download and upload.
Even if you had a software program/ leased proxy as long as you are using someone elses server they are most likely monitoring your activity whether it be for marketting purposes or just plain robbing your info.
Kind of contradictory you are trying to be anonymous but just opening yourselves up to a whole lot more.
Only proxy server I would trust would be my own, I will hopefully have mine up and running soon.

Can anyone comment on this? Does it realy open you up much more?

Is blocklist manager really that good? I downloaded it and when the program is running, my computer is very slow. It's always hanging around, unlike with Peer Guardian which once you minimize it, the program sort of runs in the background.
But if it is worth it, I'll run it.

If you're going to use Steganos Internet Anonym, get the Pro version from *here* ; but whatever you do do NOT download an illegal crack for it, especially not from mscracks.com/get.php?id=190218 because that would be illegal and probably a sin.

a normal forwarding proxy is not secure, as a) your provider may scan your traffic/requests, and the owner of the proxy could assign your ip to requested pages. JAP seems to be safer, it encrypts your connection right on your pc up to the proxy-cascade provided by some universities in socialist germany ;-) the cascade consists of a multi-layer network, each sation will only be able to encrypt one layer of your request to route it the the next layer, until finally the request to the www is made and the data will be send back through the cascade, encrypted and then send back to your JAP applet. this renders you immune to attacks on single poins on the chain, like a protocolling proxy or a listening cable provider.
the BKA (german equivalent of the fbi) already fought some cases to get information, but it got turned down every time. note that JAP is still in developement and does not provide ideal protection. however, it is still the best solution (and obviously one of the slowest) http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html

I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come alive from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind---and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."
