BR flour and Rye?

Just wondering if this combination would give good results when colonizing B+ Cubensis. Anyone ever try this?

Are you using rye grain or rye flour? And are you doing cakes or are you doing loose spawn?

I'm doing it in cakes and I'm using rye grain (often referred to as rye berries).

I'm doing this in quart jars - 3/4 filled

I started 12 jars using the PF Tek. In 8 of the jars I used the regular BR formula. In the remaining 4 I
used rye flour. The rye didn't look so good, kinda clumpy and I thought they wouldn't work. I'm 5 days in
and their both colonizing nicely. The BR is spreading along the surface while the rye is a bit slower but
VERY thick. Has anyone else tried this? I'll keep my results posted.

I just innoc. 16 1/2 pint jars last week - in each jar I had exactly 3/8 cup verm. 1/4 cup BRF 1 Tbsp flax seed meal 1/8 cup birdseed(millet,milo,wheat) (presoaked and rinsed) and 1/4 cup spring water. These jars were p.c. 45 min. @ 15psi. I too am 5 days in and growth is going better than expected since my 2 syringes were both 8 months old. I wanted to use rye in some form but decided to wait till next time to do so. Let me know how it goes.....
