If your sterilizing while boiling jars, then yes, you have to cook the rice according to the package instructions. Remembering to leave OUT the BUTTER OR SALT or any other ingredients they might say.
This is the BR that i use:




This is how i cook my whole grain BR in the microwave...

2 cups BR
2 1/3 cups H2o

Put in covered bowl and microwave for 5min on high. Then 45min on medium setting.

That's it for the cooking.

This is my lil variation on the 9er-Tek, probably obvious but i havent seen anyone type it out.

this is the substrate formula for my "spawn jars" (callem what you want)

2 parts cooked BR to 1and1/2 verm....

Then my monkeys steam sterilize for a full hour.

HOW TO STEAM STERILIZE.....
1. bring pot o' water to boil
2. lower heat so it is at a steady boil, not a rapid boil
3. place your jars in your pot
4. put cover on the top of your pot
5. wait an hour
6. sterilized jars
7. let cool and innoculate.
