    #3562747 - 12/30/04 09:31 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

damn i hope this is as fun as i hope it will be!

going to my first rave tommorow  :smirk:

i held out for a long time cuz i like reggae and bob dylan more than jarring techno beats, and im not much of a dancer, and i like to wear brown and forest green instead of rainbow colours...

but im tired of hearing my friends raveing about how great raves are (hilarious right?) and last one they almost got me to go (halloween rave) and i dropped out last minuite do do shrooms, terrible night i had just awful, and then they were all like wow so fun so this time im not missin out

so anyways its a new years eve rave going with a few friends and doing i think 2 pills of E which i have probably ID on a reliable website as being good, a mix of mda, mde and mdma all in one superpill.

so im pumped but also a bit nervous not knowing what to expect.

who here raves? how fun is it?

peace and love hope you all have great new yearsssssses.

 :sun:  :sun:  :sun:

Dude, you're going to your first rave tomorrow?  Raves are sooo 90's.  j/k

Seriously, though, you're like 7 years too late to experience parties at their finest.  You may have fun, especially if you're on E.  Ecstacy could make a trip to the dentist fun, though.  If you don't like the music, I don't see why you're even going.  If it's just to do drugs, you can have a better time just staying at home, IMO.  Whatever you decide to do, have fun, and be safe.  :tongue2:

Yeah, my girlfriend pointed out that I was being a bit of a buzzkill with that post.  Sorry dude, I'm not trying to rain on your parade. A rave is totally what you make of it (unless it REALLY sucks).  I'm sure with the right friends and the right attitude you can have a blast.  Some of the best times of my life have been at parties.  I'm sure there's still fun to be had.  Go with an open mind, and don't let people like me ruin your night!

I went to a few raves here and there...

I dont like "Going out" on drugs. Unless Im just having a nice spliff or drinking people make me really paranoid when Im rolling (tripping etc)

Once I rememebr in the 10th grade. Me and a buddy did half a vial each of K (snorted) and then went to the cafeteria. One of the worst experiences of y life. I was so paranoid I want to a bathroom and sat in a stall for around an hour just sobering up...

Actually, they were at their finest well over 10 years ago.  Probably before 99 percent of the population had even heard of the term "rave".  I did most of my "raving" between late '91 and early '93.  By about the mid 90s it had become too commercial for me and I got away from the scene.

That being said, its still a fun thing to go to an event.  I still have a love for the music, the lights, the drugs and the culture surrounding it.  And the raves that still take place can be a lot of fun.  But the early days of the true underground raves are gone forever.  It was something I am glad I was there to see.

listen guys, i missed out on the hippy era, i missed out on LSD, and even though i realllize that maybe i missed out on the golden years of the rave, id like to just pretend i didnt and catch the ass end of it.

im sure ittl be fun anyways

but yeah im a little paranoid now but when im on E all inhibitions vanish. i went to this huge concert/party called folk fest and on the first night did E wanderd around the camp talking to people and made like 100 good freinds.

same strategy should do me

I hate this time era. All there is are wars, rumors and scandals. The public hangs on to the debochery known as hollywood as though it is the bible. Shirts worn by some 16 year old slut who cant sing are worth more then ancient artifacts. True romance is long dead in the commercialism age.

This is an evil age my friends...

no. its just an age, and what you choose to focus on will shape your perception of it.

let me offer a counterbalance to your bleak assesment.

We are provided wtih all our basic needs, food water and shelter, incredibly conviently at that, and more of our wants are satisfied than in any point in human history. our affluence is absolutely staggering (i realize this only applies to us lucky few but ...)

with the internet, humans are capable of communicating instantaneously, sharing ideas, building off one anothers insight, philiosophy and technology therefore snowball advancing at ever faster rates.

the limits of our experience are drastically widend. air travel allows us to go anywhere in the world while once youd be lucky to leave your village in a lifetime.

technology and medicine, science has provided infinite wonderments for the mind.

drugs are prevalent and available.

with a few strokes on a search engine, the works of histories greatest philiosophers, poets and artists are at our finger tips. music and videos, free!

the possibilities of our lives are absolutely staggering. never before have so many options and oportunities been available to us as individuals. never before have choices been so limitless.

"these are the most interesting times your could POSSIBLY hope to live in, so what ever you do, dont be bored" - waking life

life is so very fucking good my friends and i say dont waste another day thinking other wise.

I merely wish for a more honorable age. There is no true passion left in the world....

we all wish for a better age my friend, and i sympathize. but realize that YOU, yes YOU are fully responsible for bringing it about.

"There is no true passion left in the world"

you are SO wrong my friend. SO wrong.

Hippies and LSD are both very much alive and well....it's just underground now, look around and you'll find both. It's people like you that will keep this movement going, so don't give up hope, oh and i'm sure you'll have a blast at the rave!!!   :sun:  We do seem to be living in grim times, I'm so young, and yet i've lived through so much.........life is a cycle though, and times of hate, pain and death are always followed by times of love, pleasure and new life...c'mon everyone, we need to keep on shining.....if ya have hope, then you always have something!  :flowerchild:
