it just wont die
    #3560653 - 12/30/04 09:47 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I bought a pereskiopsis through ebay, paid $4 and when it arrived it was a twig,
I stuck it in some dirt and gave it a little water and a couple of leaves formed.
I then neglected it for a couple of months and decided since it still had a leaf
that I'd try and revive it, a little water each week and a 400mh light later
and in 2 weeks I now have a live plant...

has anyone managed to kill one?

I know what you mean!  During a move I snapped like two of them.  I replanted the snapped part, both are thriving!  Even the little nubbins left over put off new shoots!

Mine are doing great and let me tell you, I'm the worst plant keeper, especially with a new kitten in the house!

I had some I thought I killed but the complete opposite happend.

I put the plants in a dark closit for 2 or 3 days and when I took it out it had fallen over(not snapped, just bent over) So I put it under some good floros.

The plant is still horizontal but has 5 shoots growing from "leaf" spots verticly.. Its a very strange plant

Why did you put them in a dark closet?

A funny thing just happened... my son got in and dug is and a few other cacti up
and snapped the pereskiopsis, the lower part has no leaves but is rooted, the
top is of course rootless... I just stuck them back in the dirt and I guess we'll see what happens
