I was at work the other day,I'm estimating 2 or so weeks ago.I was walking from my car to the apartment complex where I was hanging sheetrock and I had come across this mushroom just chilling there in the grass under the morning sun.I've seen countless species of mushrooms, but never one like this.I could kick myself in the ass for not having a camera because this mushroom was neat. The cap was more like a hood that hung down way to the middle of the stem.It was about 3 - 5 inches tall,it was a light, pasty, kinda chalky yellowish green color with little yellow flakes all over it.I had almost stepped on the little guy before noticing him.I had nearly busted my ass trying to keep from squashing him.I wanted to pick him to bring him back home to take pictures for an i.d. but I felt that something as cool as that mushroom deserved to live as long as he could. I did'nt post this for i.d. purposes,I just thought I'd share the story.I have been into identifying mushrooms for what I thought was a long time.I thought I had seen all the mushrooms that could grow in my area and this little dude proved me wrong which is cool. I know the story probably makes me sound like a dork, but I don't get to share moments with mother nature that often because I'm a work-a-holic and the times I do get to go outdoors I like to spend them with her.
