Humidity Ques.

I've seen so many people stressing the idea of how important humidity is. I've also seen pic's of trays and tupperwares with very large mushrooms that go far beyond the top of the container. My question is how can you keep them alive and well if there's no way you can put a top on the container to keep in humidity?

You can put a plastic bag over the whole thing instead the lid, or have the whole container in a humifified room.

I also have a question about humidity... I live in Miami and its already REALLY humid. sometimes its hard to breathe outside because it gets humid AND hot PLUS i live across the street from MIA... this means that INSIDE peoples' houses, they want it to be nice and cool.. a conflict arises if you are trying to grow mushrooms and have them at 85 degrees and have your house cool... can someone share some growing wisdom?

CACA, if you have a garage or storage area(hot water heater closet?) it should be a perfect climate for incubation...As far as fruiting them goes, room temperature is the desired temp...My rule is if you feel comfortable, THEY feel comfortable..
Humidity, of course, is a totally different thing...If you have a terrarium set up you should easily be able to maintain an artificial climate for your babies with a humidifier, perlite, hand misting or whatever method that suits your needs...I recommend doing some searches on regulating humidity to find what fits you best...

I have no garage or storage area. i don't even know where I'm going to grow them! I WAS going to grow them at this guy's house down the hall, but he smacked me over the head cause he was drunk, so I'm not talking to him anymore. I am thinking I can grow it at my friend's house, but I am afraid that it is going to be too cold for them. I am comfortable at 75 degrees. Is that okay? Inside the Terrarium it will be hotter, right? hmm.. The AC is throwing air around. Could this present a problem?

75 degrees is perfect...inside will be +/-1 or 2 degrees..still perfect.
If you have a sealed(this doesn't mean it has to be airtight) container to grow, I don't foresee the AC being a problem...
This very message board has a search engine...see up between main index and control panel? There are several search options to narrow down your material...Feel free to PM me with any questions..

I wish I had a problem with too much humidity in my state...I would grow outside for once!!!!!! I'm at 9000 ft elevation and my problem is dry cold climate... just the opposite.
