Some people have great trips on them, others have god awful trips. Could be compared to many psychedelics in that you get amazing stories, and then you get horror stories. I can't remember which member on this site has it, but in their sig. there is "The Amanita Primer" - you should check it out if you can find it.

Can you die from taking those? It says on iamshaman.com that they are listed as a poison by the FDA.

If you eat the wrong type of Amanita, then yes you can die.  A reputable source though would most likely have the correct type (I hope).  If you were to consume a very large amount of A. Muscaria, then my guess is there would be some pretty bad side effects, but if you stay in the "normal" dosage range (I think the no dosage rule applies to this forum too, just check out the primer I was talking about), then no you will not die.  They say the poison part to save themselves the legal troubles.  (still can't find that link :frown:)
