So does anyone else do this?
    #3556295 - 12/29/04 06:26 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I spend hours and hours simply browsing the home listings in Canada, searching for that perfect starter home.

I've been at it for about 3 and 1/2 hours now.

i do that with guitars. Just spend hours looking at guitars i would have to sell a kidney to buy, drooling wishing i had it in my hand, and was on stage blowing peoples eardrums with crazy riffs. :jamming:

Nope I hope to build my first home with my hands something very similar to this

I have found myself searching land prices many times though.

When I was considering moving to Ireland a few years ago I was doing the same thing. It was really enjoyable and kind of addictive, I would search for a couple of hours a day over a span of a couple weeks time. God I love the internet!

That house is fantastic, I'd love to live in it but would hate to roof the thing for sure.

Adom, I grew up in rural NE Pennsylvania, and my neighbor had a house exactly like that one. We always called it the "round" house.

They are very cheap to build to. With small and few building materials( no load bearing studs are longer than 4 feet) and prefab sheeting(no waste) they are very cost effective.

That one has much fancier windows than I would probably use and I'd use a better foundation than masonry block, if you get frost you don't want that junk, I don't believe in it.

I live in Iowa. For one it's affordable for me and I really think they are neat houses.
My boss started building them in the early 70's and loves them, he kind of influenced my desire.

Now I'm looking for homes around Austin to move into ASAP...this apartment is getting way too small. I figured it out, and in a year or two my husband aned I will be able to afford a 125,000 home. He owns property with his grandfather, but he doesn't get any income form those homes.

I find myself spending a lot of time on mls.ca looking for vacant land out near the Canadian Rockies :smirk:
