Now if only Maynard would team up with Robert Fripp and the drummer from Meshuggah.....

Holy shit..that's pretty fucking awesome http://krockradio.com/grammy/local_story_356111451.html Another ?Side? To Belew Veteran musician Adrian Belew has completed his latest work, ?Side One.? The influential rocker nabbed Tool drummer Danny Carey and Primus frontman/bassist extraordinaire Les Claypool for guest appearances on the disc. ?Side One? is the first of three efforts on the way from Adrian. The singer says, ?There are three different attitudes that I?ve recently discovered in my writing and this album is a representation of the first one. ?Side One? deals with the concept of the power trio and writing in that headspace. As the guitar player in that equation, you?re only as good as your rhythm section, and I can?t imagine a better rhythm section in a power trio than Les Claypool and Danny Carey.? Look for Adrian Belew?s ?Side One,? in stores January 25th.

damn! This sounds fuckin bad ass! I don't know much about Adrian Belew... what other stuff has he done?
So many layers, even apparent in the teaser. Reminds me of a darker, more serious FFTT.

Also , Belew has a great body of work with Zappa and a few tracks on The Downward Spiral to his credit.

He's also on a Robert Palmer(!) album called Maybe It's Live. I think he's only on the live side but he contributes some of his patented Elephant Talk guitar work. Good album.
