what to do when away??
    #3552735 - 12/28/04 04:07 PM (13 years, 27 days ago)

I will be goin away for about 3-4 days. I have a few pins poppin up. I have no one to fan them for me. Will the be ok if I just leave the lid slightly open for air? It took a long time any a few tries to get this far, I don't want to fuck it up.  :mushroom2:

If the pins just showed up, you should be fine leaving them for a few days, they'll be ready for picking when you get back.  For gas exchange, I'd just leave the lid sealed and cut a hole in the side of the chamber and glue a filter of some sort on there, no need to worry about fanning ever again!

Dont just cut a hole somewhere...put 1 or 2 holes right at the bottom of the chamber (as low as you can without interfering with perilite, geolite, casings, whatevers in there) and the same amount of holes in the lid..then stuff with polyfil. co2 sinks and should drain out of the bottom holes pulling fresh air in the top ones and should provide ok air exchange. Fanning will still probably give you better results.

You could also put in an airpump (fishy kind) and thats what I'd do, or put in a cool mist.
