What to put on the Billboard?
    #3552548 - 12/28/04 03:09 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

If I ever have the money, I'd like to advertise on billboards as a counter to all the government drug war propaganda.

Here's one.

A picture of a cigarette next to a picture of some really good bud with something like "This one kills you. This one makes you happy"

Or a beautiful photograph of a mushroom maybe with rainbows in the background with something like "Do you want to know more?"

Billboards are cheap and they are right out there in everybody's face; I think the key to success would be really good art work along with a happy message.

Here's another one.

A photo of an elegant cannabis plant with the message "Because life shouldn't have to suck"

"Do your part to fight the war on Drugs. Grow your own."

For medical pot,

"Because medicine is supposed to make you feel better."

What else shall we put up.

Any drug saying would be cool...

like just in big black letters the bible quote (that will get those damn bible thumpers)

"Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours"

or something like "Free the weed, plant a seed"

Even statistics might be attention getting...like a tally of the money spent on the War on Drugs

Yeah, how about some death statistics? If you really wanna do it I'm sure you could find people to chip in money.

Number of American deaths per year that result directly or primarily from the following selected causes nationwide, according to World Almanacs, Life Insurance Actuarial (death) rates, and the last 20 years of U.S. Surgeon Generals' reports. (figures are for 1988 from the federal government's Bureau of Mortality Statistics and the National Institute on Drug Abuse....

Tobacco 340,000 to 425,000
Alcohol (not including 50% of all highway deaths and 65% of all murders) 150,000
Aspirin (Including deliberate overdose) 180 to 1,000+
Caffeine (from stress, ulcers and triggering irregular heartbeats, etc) 1,000 to 10,000
'Legal' Drug overdose (Deliberate or accidental) from legal prescribed or patent medicines or from mixing with alcohol (eg. Valium with Alcohol) 14,000 to 27,000
Illicit Drug Overdose (deliberate or accidental) from all illegal drugs 3,800 to 5,200
Theopoline (Pharmaceutical Drug legally prescribed for asthma) Theopoline is also responsible for 6,500 hospital admissions and 1,000 cases of permanent brain damage per year. 50
Marijuana 0 (ZERO)

i like the money and the drug war idea.

get a computerized sign that shows how much per second the US spends, like the sign in NY with the National Debt counter.

If it weren't for the bloody corpses, I wouldn't have any corpses at all.

There are two ways to get to the top of an oak tree: start climbing or sit on an acorn.

Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

Self medication should be up to individuals, Not Government.

Drug war also has funded Terrorism.

WAR ON DRUGS: cure is worse than the disease.

all quotes from Michael Badnarik the 2004 libertarian party nominee

America's debt problem is a "sign of leadership failure"

We have "reckless fiscal policies"

America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.

Americans deserve better

Barack Obama
