Correct. Sierra Nevada Mountains. To be specific, that is the summit of Mt. Whitney. Its the highest point in the contiguous 48 US states at 14,496 feet. This was actually the second time I had been there.
And yes, I was really wearing shorts. It was August and the weather was nice during the day. But after spending the night on the summit I had to bundle up in the morning. Morning was cold and windy!
And I'd love to go back with anyone who wants to!

Well this was discussed briefly amongst the mods and admins and it has been brought to light that the Physical & Mental Health forum should be a good home to these topics in and of itself. I get the feeling people are shying away from the physical topics that could be included in that forum, and perceive it primarily as a psych-health forum. We broadened the scope of it a few months ago so that such outdoor-related topics would fit well there.. but it's up to you guys to make the threads.
If, in time, it becomes that there are a significant amount of outdoors-esque threads in P&MH, then we can revisit the idea of granting it its own subforum.. but for now, prove that the idea has merit by envoking such topics in the already existing Physical & Mental Health forum and we'll work from there.
Nice pic TTS

sumit, if i ever go back there (hopefulyl will) i'll hit ya up with a pm
well thanks for looking into geokills. i honestly didnt think to put hiking threads in that forum before this thread as i too thought it was mainly for people who had problems...as it seems.
so what about a sub forum for that?
anyway i'll start posting some stuff in there now that i know im allowed

in fairness, would you agree that this is not very welcoming to hikers and that sort of thing?
"Are you depressed, overwhelmed, addicted, dumped, out-of-shape, unhealthy or just lacking direction? Welcome to the club. Whether you're tackling one of life's many trials and need some support or just want some tips on eating healthier, this is a forum for anyone who wants to get help or better themselves. "
seems kind of gloomy for people who love to do outdoor stuff (not always active) to come in to post. maybe jsut me.

ya.. the physical and mental health forum could do with a more positive description..maybe even a forum name change. how about something like: A place to discuss healthy physical and mental living. Whether you need some help dealing with mental/emotional struggles, want some exercise tips, talk sports.. or just a place to get some good advice on life in general, this is the place. Technically, if this forum was serving its new intended purpose.. culinary arts could be a subforum of it as well. save some of that forum clutter.
