What do you know now, that you wish you could've known when you were younger?

I would have finished high school as soon as possible and gone right on to college and finished it as early as possible, too.

I didn't realize how much more fun life would be with an education, how much more I could accomplish, how much easier life would be.

I wish that I never spent so much time worrying and being depressed. Won't go into my childhood problems, but I spent almost every single minute worrying about everything. I could have tried changing my perspective, but I suppose that it wouldn't have moulded the person I am today.

I was quite ignorant about many things in highschool.
I was quite pessimistic, emotional about things, had no serenity and peace, my ego was dominating and it caused me a lot of pain, I just couldn't let go of things...

But If I had the same attitude about life then as I have now, It would be more than difficult for me to stay sane in the eyes of people around me. I was on the same level as most people, so
I was pretty much like them, strugling.

And now it is rather difficult for me to interact with most people, because everybody is materialistic, pessimistic, close minded, preprogramed, never use their heads...
And of course they expect me to be the same. The fact is that we are both in the same shit, It's just that now I don't "live for" I just "live", and I feel sooo good. It is nearly impossible to speak about spirituality when everyone expects you to talk about finantial problems, shit happening around the world, and how hard life is.

Finding true peace, is a blessing from a personal side, but In today's society it is allso a curse from the social side.
Peacefull content just don't fit in in this nervouse, fast paced, coffy and energizer fueled, neurotic, materialistic world.

It is wonderfull that there are places like this on internet where people are free of geographical and national limits, and can speak with similar openminded people.

There is a reason why even positive drugs are demonized, they simbolize dropping out of the slavery, so as soon as you decide
to be your own man, the trained dogs of the state come barking with badges, they are faceless emtpy robots working for the system.
And everybody believes in all that shit, hate, punishment, violence,
control, "normal" , "the right way" When will it all end? In a thousand years?

That being an adult really does suck and I'd spent less time wishing my childhood away.

I don't wish I knew anything more than I did. I followed the way my life has taken, and will continue to follow the way my life will take, and hope to learn from every grass along the path. Life has gotten me this far, and I do not wish to change anything, even if I am not perfect.

Come on, Ravus.  Play the game.  IF If if ...

If you could do it over again, what do you wish you would have known when you were younger?

I like me today.  I like the person I became.  But I went through a lot of shit to get here. I would rather have gone through all I have gone through to be who I am today, then be able to go back and do it over.

However, just for fun, if I was told I was doing it over, and what could I take back with me, .....

See?

Sometimes I feel I don't have enough desire to play these games  :frown:

I really feel relaxed, that even the worst of times are insignificant to the present other than what they have taught me.

If I could tell my younger self anything though, perhaps it would be that I should show love to everything, rather than just viewing it as separate. He wouldn't believe me though I bet, he'd have to learn that for himself.

I don't know why, but that brought a lump to my throat, but in a good way.  That's how I feel.  Maybe the lump is owed to "the worst of times" that I have been through, and I did not succumb.  I didn't succumb to bitterness, to cynicism, to hatred.  I took the lessons and I have moved on to what's next.  Thanks, Ravus.

I wish I hadn't been so stubborn and full of myself. That I had actually taken what more experienced people (mainly parents) offered as advice to heart.

If i could go back i'd tell my younger self not to worry about what other people thought about me. growing up my parents always tried to instill this value that some people are more important than others and that I have to act a certain way around the 'important' ones. boy...are they confused o-O
