does my myco bag need air?

my myco bag (ziploc bag)has its shit in it and ready to go when i put it under my lite should i leave the bag cracked for air or fully sealed i would think fully sealed to keep out contams thanks guys

Im pretty new here but I think if it is forming THAT fast (your posts are an hour apart) then it might not be myc it might be ( i think i read this in a post somewhere) green mold forming? NOT sure on this so dont quote me..

Fastest I've done myc is 3 days to start.

Sounds like Contam's, Bummer for you man.Don't give up keep tring.

If its growing that fast, its almost certainly contams, sorry. But, to answer your question, yes, your mycelium does need air exchange, but I wouldn't just crack the top of the bag, too easily contamed that way. Try applying a filter patch of some sort to a hole cut in the side of the bag, maybe a piece of tyvek or a piece of a hepa filter. Or, if you have a little spare cash, get you some mycobags from the shroomery sponsor. That way you get the air exchange you need and a lesser chance of contams taking over. Good luck on you grow.
