proper fishtank heater wattage
    #3546100 - 12/27/04 12:54 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

When using a tub in tub tek would a 50watt submersible fish tank heater be enough??? or too much???

another idea I had was running an air pump into the water resevoir(as a means of pumping warm humid air into the main fruiting tub) as a means of making a higher RH while maybe increasing temps a bit as well, since I live in a cold dry area.

just a thought.. :mushroom2:

There is nothing new about this, its common and works pretty well.

My first casings ever were fruited this way

No, I use a 200 watt heater in a fish tank full of water, and my 200 works great. (nice and stable)

50 watts is all that a number of people use and should be enough.

I too havn't used anything under 200 though, they're to cheap off ebay.

More important then wattage..get the seperate probe kind if you can..they're sweet.

That light should work but how much wattage is it? Not a HPS is it? I think your just talking about a flouro light and those are cool. You don't want much light or heat...just a little to tell them which way to grow up.

pretty sure its a 100 or 150 watt fluorescent light. im going to be running a mix of the tub in tub method with some casings as well both underneath the growlux lights. Well see how things go, still waiting on myceilum growth on the jars i inoculated a couple days ago though.

50watts should be sufficient for any practical sized tubs. It will just take alittle longer to warm the water up.

I used to just squirt the walls of my tnt once a day and that was good enough for humidity.

squirt the walls of your TNT? Thats not a good thing...your TnT should be dry, the moisture your jars need is contained within the jars.
