Just have found this web page, where there are some pics of cultivated Tremella fuciformis:



Wonder if anyone tried that out ? Does anybody know how it tastes ?

It's used to prepare soups and gellified dishes.

A local asian market in Denver sells a jelly fungus that looks very similar. Do you think it could be the same? Often the names of the dried mushrooms at the asian markets are not very descriptive; "white fungus" for example. Maybe it would be possible to get spores from a dried specimen? They would be fun to grow!

Yes, I am very interested in a way to acquire these mushrooms. They look very pretty and would definitely be cool to see in person.

Maybe it would be worth to try it out.
But I would prefer a clean culture to the dried specimen :wink:.
