Could it be cobweb mold?

I TRIED THE PF TEC ABOUT A YEAR AGO WITH LITTLE SUCESS,I ONLY GOT ONE CAKE TO FRUIT,I WAS HAPPY WITH THIS FOR BEING MY VERY FIRST TIME .FOR PERSONAL REASONS I DID NOT TRY AGAIN UNTILL RESANTLY.I WENT WITH PF STYLE CAKES B+STRAIN.BUT WITH A RAMSEY ALUM.VERM SEAL IN ALL JARS BUT THREE OF 10.THE 8 JARS WITH THE RAM SEAL ARE FULLY COLINIZED AND,I WAS ALMOST READY TO BIRTH.APON INSPECTING THEM I NOTICED WHAT SEAMED TO BE COB WEB,I WENT AHEAD AND,OPENED ONE OF THE JARS AND,SURE ENUFF THAT IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.SHOULD I GO AHEAD WITH THEM JUST INCASE IM WRONG,AND WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PROB IF THIS IN DEED IS THE WEB MOLD.COULD IT HAVE BEEN THE RAM SEAL?HAS ANYONE HAD POBLEMS WITH THIS TYPE OF SEAL?PLEASE HELP.THANK U TO ALL.SORRY SO LONG OF A POST..

Lose the caps dude. Where did you see the cobweb? If it is on the verm seal it could just be whispy mycellium growing. Cobweb is usually a lot greyer. Birth the cakes. If you eventually see some whitish grey fuzz sticking 2 inches off of your cake with black specs in it, then you got it. Once it reaches those stages I dont know how hard it is to combat, but small amounts can be overcome by treating it with H2O2.

and if it's in colonising jars, can I birth the jar, aply H2o2, and put it back? (in sterile conditions)

If you are unsure, cut the substrate where you think the mold is. As for birthing those cakes go ahead ASAP, other solution would be to case them instead with 50/50 and fight the possible contam with h2o2, can't think of anything else. Cheers, MAIA
