jars won't finish
    #3535565 - 12/23/04 01:26 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

So I have a good 24 jars in my tub-in-tub incubator. The first 12 have been in there at least a month. They had been colonizing real well real fast for awhile. Now when they are just about finished, they seemed to have stopped. I don't know if they are just going slowly or if something is wrong. There is like the size of a quarter($0.25) left on a few of them and the myc just won't colonize it. There is no discoloration or contamination that I can tell. The cakes have shrunken quite a bit and there is moisture spots on the glass. I put the second 12 in the TNT about a week ago and they have taken off! about half way done. How could this new batch be catching up with my first batch so quickly? Somebody tell me what is up, please

do you have tape on the jars? try flipping them and give a little tap so the bottom of the cake isnt touching the jar anymore then place back down on lid. the reason for this is cause it needs air exchange. another little trick i do with my stalled jars is hold it upside down over my HEPA and force some good oxygen in there. but do you have tape on them?
