"what do you guys think these are"
appear to be mushrooms to me...

There is alot of cyanofibs popping up around now, and the gills do look like psilocybe gills... but I have no experience in cyanofibrillosa and wouldn't be able to tell ya if thats what those were...

wait for someone else to ID I have no clue...

I think they're Stropharia or perhaps Agrocybes.

No one has been able to make an accurate ID so they should not be eaten. Given the habitat, general appearance, and dark spore print, I would guess Stropharia, and not one of the edible species.

If you want an ID you will have to give all the info requested here.

thegatewaydrug, are you in northern california? I recently found a huge patch of these same ones.. Some were bruising blue. One of my friends had a bite of one (Dumb idea, yes) and said all it did was give him a headache so it's safe to say that these are most likely not active.

you did not find those bruising blue.

you may have found them to be darkening uppon handling or found a psilocybe like P. cyanofibrilosa, depending on where in nor cal you are.

in almost every case where a layperson claims to have found "that exact mushroom", they are stretching things a little.

--------------------

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
