Does psilocybin cause nausea or is it something else in the shrooms that causes nausea, like the actual fruitbody?

Advanced cultivation?
Most people say it is the onset of the drug that causes the nausea. For me, it is the mushroom. If I make tea (with proper filtering), I will not get sick (despite the onset and trip being much more intense). However, if I eat them I will hurl every single time. I believe it is because my digestive system does not like the raw mushrooms. It is usually a few hours into the trip when I get sick, already beyond the peak... And I always hurl until the mushrooms are out of my body...
It could effect other people in different ways...

I believe it is the psilocybin itself effecting seratonin receptors in the gi system. There are antiemetic drugs that block periferal seratonin receptors. If someone had some they could try these and see if they stop the nausea.

There are a number of reasons people will throw up when they ingest mushrooms, but it is not uncommon for people to have allergy-like symptoms to some of the proteins/glycoproteins/carbohydrates that make up the mushroom fruitbody.
Sure, the psilcin(e)/psilocybin(e) can play a role in nausea and gastrointestinal mayhem  , but in many cases extraction can alleviate that.
Another way to go about solving nausea is to take Dramamine about 45 minutes before ingesting any active compounds. This works well for many individuals also.

Some have noticed that pure psilocin provides a trip with:
1. Very minimal or no nausea
2. Minimal "anxiety" during come-up
3. A more clear trip (less mental fogginess)
4. A more consistant trip (because potency of pure psilocin is known)

I disagree with taking something like dramimine, i would preffer take some famotidine.

Well if I eat em dry I get no nausea. Fresh, is a much different story

ive never gotten nausea from the shrooms, but i do have a hard time eating them. makes me gag every single time.. i know ppl whove tossed on them tho.

Try taking them powdered in gel capsuls.
Thats what I do now, mainly for taste reasons but I've noticed I don't get much stomache discomfort anymore either.
The only downside is it takes about an hour longer for them to kick in.

When you talk about Psilocybin extracts giving the benefits mentioned are you talking about synthesized Psilocybin or just a simple tea/something similar?
I was going to comment that mushrooms have alot of other chemicals in them and wouldn't an extract remove them, thus taking something positive away from the trip? It seems that the trip is better when an extract is used so I guess that point is void. I still am curious to know whether alkaloids other than psilocybin would be extracted when a tea is made though, links on this subjet matter would be most appreciated.
