BULK SPAWN (Pic's)

2 quarts fully colonized WBS (EQ strain) 12 quart pan - 8 quarts of pasturized compost substrate
Open jars, dig out WBS - save back 10% in jar & mix rest in.
Add remaining 10% to top & spread evenly over surface
Cover with hvy duty saran wrap & poke 20 (+/-) pin holes in it. Cover saran wrap with crumpled tin foil (keeps light out & allows minor gas exchange)
Incubate in darkness @ 80/85F & high RH (so substrate stays moist)
Day 2, spawn recovers & begins to grow & colonize substrate: Adding some EXTRA SPAWN to the SURFACE makes it colonize faster & gives what's underneath a protective myc coating. When it happens, don't let a fully colonized surface FOOL YOU. Allow 4 or 5 days for the remainder to catch up.

Agar once again very informative for me.
How do you incubate such tubs? If I take 2 of them and make a tub in tub with fish tank heater I think I would be fine?
Is it true that poo/compost has few degrees higher temp by itself caused by all organic activities in it??

Interior of bulk straw/manure based substrate will run 2 or 3 degree's higher than ambiant air. I try to incubate mine at 82F, because of that factor.
TIT would work. So would a single tub w/fish tank heater in water jar (in tub) will work fine -- if you have a grate or spacers under pans holding substrate, so warm air gets under pans, instead of then setting on cold floor.

If you are careful with your temps, you can get one of those low under-bed bins...the kind that is long and flat. Place your casing containers in, then fill with water and add heater...It will fit about 4 decent sized rubber casing containers...pretty effective for the casing incubation period.

Sadly......I don't know the words in anything but english. Grate &/or spacer = something like wire or plastic perforated rack that elevates (raises) substrate container off botton of tub it is in - so warm air can circulate beneath it. Anything that would function like this Pan = the container the substrate is IN.
