Pins growing slowly, aborts maybe? Shiva is displeased....
    #3528775 - 12/21/04 08:08 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

I've got some trays(Golden Teachers) that I birthed probably a month or so ago. They started fruiting a couple of weeks ago, but on the trays that didn't fall victim to overlay or water damage(This is my first attempt) a good deal of large sized pins have developed.I might have gone overboard on the substrate depth(1 1/2 - 2in) because the pins seem to indicate the the mature fruits will be huge. However, I read that a pin should take 5-7 days to mature, while these have been at this stage of half maturity for about a week. The caps haven't turned black, so I don't think that they have aborted. They continue to form more pins, though they all seem so stop at a certain point. If anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm doing anything wrong at all, it would be really appreciated.

Also, for the most part I followed the casing tek found on mushmush.nl
It seemed pretty thorough, and I get the impression these guys know what they're doing. If anyone has any comments or suggestions regarding their methods that would help a lot too.

pins will mature slowly if the environment is not right also yes they should have huge fruits as most GT are large but the substrate depth and the casing depth may have caused them to grow alot under ground they should be fine unless they start to turn black just be patient
