Is it ok to re-use perilite? I just re-caes some casing's that were taken over by cowweb at the top.. so i scraped it off and re-cased in straight unsteralized verm.. however some of the other vem and maybe some cobweb mold got into the perilite.. is it ok to reuse the perilite again.. maybe If sprayed liberally with lysoal and h202?

Perlite isn't exactly expensive, so I'd say better safe than sorry. Get a new bag. If you really can't afford that $2.50 for a huge bag, try baking it @ 300F for about an hour.

Good question. I have half a bag of perlite in my big terrarium, with a few pieces of verm and rice and possibly green mold spores from the contaminant which killed my last crop pretty much the day after I put my cakes in the terrarium. I'm wondering whether I really have to throw it all away, it seems like such a waste...

Get a big aluminum roasting tin and bake the used perlite in the oven @ 350 'til it's all dried out. Then re-hydrate w/ clean water. Tada..

You'll accomplish more if you start now.
