Another Eastern NC shroom

Here is another shroom. It is very plain and dumpy looking, but it is interesting in a couple of ways. It smells very tasty. It also stains purple on bruising. You can see the purple stain around the edges of the cap where I squeezed it. Also, the gills look like a sponge.

Any ideas on ID?

It's some kind of bolete... While some boletes are edible(but not psychoactive) I would not eat one that briuses purple. If your into finding/eating mushrooms used for culinary purposes... you might wanna wait on a better ID.

I have been finding a ton of puff-balls around in this area here as of late. I have a few pics of a ripe Giant Puff Ball I hope to post here before too long... but Im yet to find anything that is "magic" in this locale.
