Spores After 6 months?
    #3524308 - 12/20/04 03:24 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

It's a long story but the spores I've been trying with recently are about 6 months old.
They were not refrigerated and I did clean off the needle with a alcohol lamp.
Regardless of the answer it's been a great learning experience and I've got a setup for nearly every aspect of growth.

thanks in advance.

If you aren't planning on using them in the very near future I'd keep them in the there. I keep mine in the Lettuce drawer on the bottom in a box.

NVM I searched around and found out varying opinions.

I got them from http://www.spore-syringe.com.

Anyone have any bad history with them?

If...... say again IF....
Spore syringe & content was sterile.

If......say again....if.....
You did not contaminate them

If.......say again.......IF....
The water in the syringe contained NO NUTRIENTS

If...... say again......if ......
Spores in syringe were VIABLE & had not GERMINATED.

There is a possiblity, after 6 months of unrefridgerated storage.

Spores or resulting wisps of Myc MAY.... SAY AGAIN......MAY... be viable.

Why not simply order several new ones with all the good deals right now on double 4 packs from TLG. Not any IF'S about them.

An aquintance say under 4C water takes less volume (shrinks) an can suck un-sterile air in teh syringe. In fridge above 4C is good.
