Invitro air exchange tek

this is a simple way to exchange the air in a invitro jar without opening it. i was thinking of this method in the early stages when the cake is beginning to colonise when you cant take the cap off. its not just for the invitro/neglect tek, anybody colonising jars could do it 1. get a pice of tissue and soak it in a bit of isopropanol (or other sterile fluid eg h202 ethanol). 2. hold it over one of the holes on the lid. 3. cover the other holes with your fingers except for one. 4. suck the air out of the jar through the uncovered hole. (clean air will come through the tissue and into the jar) 5. repeat with all other holes. you can taste the carbon dioxide (i brew wine and beer and know the taste well). it is distinctive and it goes after a while as the jar becomes filled with new air

i cannot imagine that an alcohol/lysol soaked tissue would filter the air so well that this method would not introduce any contaminants.
