weird mushroom

did not get to take a pic but when i was out in the field theses mushrooms looked like golfballs and closer inspection it was round with a thick white stalk what could they be??? and if u broke it open had yellow in it and like seeds

Mushrooms don't have seeds. They have spores that are too small to see with the naked eye. So where sunglasses.

For a minute there it sounded like you found a puffball although they don't really have any stalk to talk off. Where the seeds you speak of more of a 'dust'? Most puffballs are edible when younger and the inside is a nice white meat.

Did they smell bad? More importantly, did they smell bad to you.?. MUNCH... UUUUUUUUUH. A puffball is as good as a button if it's edible.
