what makes them phototropic??

im just wondering what chemical makes mushrooms phototropic. i assume its not auxin. as i dotn think mushroosm get enough light for that to work well. anyone??

hmm seems liek its only in plants. says controls cloroplast movement.

They're really similar to the proteins in fungi -- the same type of receptor. I don't think the actual fungal proteins have a name, yet, but I could be wrong. Here's a paper comparing WC-1 and WC-2 proteins in N. crassa to plant phototropins , if you're interested:
