 Depleted Seratonin - Cyans = No trip?

I acquired some Cyans for my first time today, 2g, and was weary to take both as i was in for a ride - i even prayed my intent before. I had alot riding on this experience - and i got next to nothing, very very slight few and far between visuals. White light behind the eyelids, and weird lucid thinking - but essentially feeling enhanced, but not mushroomy and still very cognitive and normal - just aware of change.
I ate several pills of MDMA the night earlier and some 5htp in the morning to counter it. *reckless abuse, i know.* - hence why i wanted a strong ego dissolution...
Would the seratonin drop be the reason for the lack of trip, are the gods against me, or were my goods bunky.
Whatta ya think?
Im kind of rambly and disappointed right now.

sounds a lot like cross tolerance.
Also id really recommend spacing out using drugs like mdma, mushrooms, lsd and them types atleast a week with more preferably. Back to back weeks of tripping got rough on me for a while.

Forsure, i know it too. there's just been free pills around lately... And its annoying. definately taking its tole on the head. I didnt realize mushrooms were so seratonigenic (sp?)
Im going to be using Aya for the first time over the holidays, i wanted this to be a bit of a precursor to catalyze a life change i the new year.

Doesn't psilocybin work on seratonin receptors..? I believe it says so in the information in How Hallucinogenic Drugs Work (a sticky in this forum).

while you don't need high levels of serotonin to trip, psilocin is received by serotonin receptors. when you roll, you stress out your receptors and they go into down regulation, and they stop working for a little while. i think that might be why you didn't trip hard.

Does this mean the more happy you are, the harder/better the trip?
Say if you took X while tripping, it common sense your going to trip harder, but is a part of that because your overly happy?
.. or am i just bein a screw up :P

You need to rest man.....If you get free pills, can't you just save them for later?
I've been there too, but it sucks when you cannot roll anymore because you have done it too many times in the week. It is not a good psychological state to be in. Get some rest.

Good avice forsure. All im very aware of...
The cyan's were intended to blast me back into my psychedelic past...
Seems when i was younger ever trip was revelatory and amazing,unleasing the secrets of the universe...
But i got in over my head with some stuff for awhile, and the pills have just been around, and ive been alone.
I dont even like rolling, the thought of the pills gross me out.. but that doesnt outweigh the faulty logic sometimes. Long ago any usefullness from me rolling was worn out. Im definately resting up.. Using melatonin and 5htp which are certainly beneficial but not a fix-it-all...
Usually when im planning a big trip.. i use it to catalyse a life change, and ive gone through alot of changes lately - ive certainly got out of a bad scene, got my head on mostly straight, and am returning to my roots once again... but i still dont think like i used to..
Im dosing Aya sometime around christmas, and hope to use it as a precursor for realizing the depth of my spirituality and starting Anew with plants as my alley, rather than chemicals as my crutch.
(ps - just picked up DMT the spirit molecule for 12 bucks!)
