I've wondered about this too. One would think a food hydrator would work well for the mushes. Although - I have never tried it personally, and couldn't tell you for sure if it would be better or worse than the drying method explained in the teks.

Food dehydrators use heat to dehydrate.
Heat + Mushies = Less Potent Mushy + Dissapointed grower  You do the balancing

The mushrooms are supposed to shrivel into a mere shadow of their former selves.  They are mostly water, can't remember the percentage but its high.  No matter how you dry them they will always shrink, but not to worry, because when properly dried they still retain almost all, if not all, of their original potency.

Fan dry until half dry, then stick into a dessicant chamber to dry the rest of the way (Shroom crackers).

I don't care about jack shit, I just wanna pick my nose!!!

I can vouch for the pump-n-seal; it works great. Best way to store herb too.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The heat will make them much less potent, but you can probably find one that has an on/off adjustable heat option.

I disabled the heat element in my dehydrator.I place as much as an ounce on the top tray of the dehydrator and aim a fan directly at them.2 days of this and into the desicant bowl. 3rd day cracker dry. I already let the caps fully open before picking for a higher yield.I'm not taking chances with heat.
