Pinning--Temp

So my cake just started pinning two days ago and there taking off like wild fire. I was just wondering if 75-80 degrees which it is in the terrarium is ok or should the temp drop once pinning has begun? Thanks!!

get some 2 liter bottles and fill them with water 3/4ths of the way up. freeze.
you can put one or two by the grow chamber, and have some extras for when they melt. you'll have to work out placement and such to get optimum temps, but i'm sure you'll figure it out.

It might not be necessary to cool it though....wait if you get pins first.

yeah if you get pins don't worry about it, cooling is harder and messier than heating.

I drop my temp. to 66 degrees when pinning starts so psilocybin production is at its max. (they will grow slower though)

Definitely not recommended! You can stall some strains at that temp beside psilocybin production will not be increased at that temp sorry to say thats bunk! You will want them at an optimal temp between 74-77F. for fastest results. GL

Hyphae thats fastest but is it the best? Just wondering cause it cab be read in many places that the higher the faster they fruit but the faster they lose potency.
Lower temps slower fruiting but less loss of potency. But longer in terrarium so more time to get contaminated.
66 seems low to me but a dutch shroom foundation says that 70-72F is best fruiting temp... (not much higher then 21C actually)
Could you comment on this? So many people saying so many this and thats....

Everything I've read and experienced over the last 25yrs. has shown that optimum means optimum. Psilocybin starts deteriorating right from the beginning thru oxidation, lowering the temp doesn't make them any more noticably stronger that has more to do with genetics. So lower temps will guarantee slower grow thus lower yields over the course of a substrates life also increasing chances of premature contamination although they will be slower establishing because of the lower temps they are eminent over time. I think people have confused many more potent cold loving species which are stronger with temp conditions rather than genetics. I say ounce for ounce there is not enough difference as far as potency is concerned but weight wise this is where I put my money. What I'm saying is if anything you may need slightly more shrooms by weight to reach the same concentration but the total weight given up through lower temps is not at all efficient IMHO.
