hi everyone... i'm getting very weird mushroom growths from my first grow.. Its supposed to be B+ but from what i see from the other threads, mine totally dont look like B+ at all.. Is it abnormal growth, or a different strain altogether?? Also, these shrooms seem to point out in every direction instead of standing vertical.. is this normal??

Hmm, Shrooms have a tendancy to grow in the way of the light. It looks to me as your container is a bit see-through. Something over the sides.
-------------------- Wow, those are some fat ass stems.

Your problem with them growing everywhere is definately light coming in from the sides.... or they look white to me and probably reflect light also. Get a different box....rubbermaid with blue or black sides or put some kind of duct tape or something on the outside. Your fruits look long and lanky, that might be an air problem. If you use perlite you should fan, but I like having an aquarium pump running on a timer.

def. looks like an air exchange problem. you're manually fanning, right rubber?
your mushies are growing everywhere from the whitish/clear sides letting light in from everywhere. your mushrooms will grow, just not straight up.

yeah, I don't like manual fanning. I feel like it's too much all at once. I like having a tubing on two sides of a 14gal container and an aquarium pump that is goes off every hour for an hour or something like that... I can't remember. This worked best.

every 6 hours for one hour? that would give 4 FAE's a day.
the skinny growth is from not enough FAE. :\

yup manual fanning.. would consider an aquarium air pump, have plenty at home lol. hmmm suggestions on how to set up the pump? anyway is it too late to fatten these up if i were to setup the pump now?
yeah i just wrapped the bottom up with newspaper and taped it all up, would this help? or will the white surface reflect light still?
thanks for all the responses people =)

white surface is the main culprit. uh... look at the website for grow chamber ideas. there's plenty of info. if you still have questions after reading the info, come ask again. i'll get you a link. the PMP is a great setup, try using these guidelines: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25056

yeah that's what I was thinking, too. And yes I had it set to that sometimes longer. No detrimental effects if the container is nice and tight and the humidity stays up there. Plus the pumps weren't very strong. And the whole air exchange thing I didn't think was good all at once, just because mushrooms need a specific [CO2] and who knows what the dramatic drop might do....maybe nothing, maybe contributes to aborts....it worked well. I also used a specific spectrum grow light. That little fact used to get the same response, but you should see the pins and lack of aborts with those two things.

alright i'll give my setup a li'l thought.. by the way, whats with long and lanky stems? does it mean a loss in potency or .. ? hmmm the caps of these shrooms seem rather small don't they?
