Perlite waiting time..?
    #3518027 - 12/18/04 08:59 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

Hey,

I just bought some perlite and put 4 inches into my terrarium and then about 3 inches(maybe a little bit more) of water. And on top of that I have the cakes on tinfoil containers (with sterilized verm in them). I didn't bother looking for an air pump but how long should I expect for the 'wicking' effect to start and raise the humidity?

Thanks for any help.

You have way too much water in there. The perlite should be wet, not submerged.

I have to agree w/dog you have too much water. You should try soaking the perlite in wate w/H2O2 and strain off before hand.
