Petition to stop banning of Psilocybe Mushrooms in UK
    #3516874 - 12/18/04 10:40 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

There is a move afoot in the UK Parliament currently to ban the possession of fresh Psilocybe Fungi, which has been legal for the last 30 years. I know that many of you are not UK residents, but please sign the petition below to fight fear and ignorance of Psilocybe mushrooms.

online petitions don't get anything done. You need a real petition signed by registered voters with their names, addresses, and possibly phone numbers as well, so the people in office can see that their constituents - the people they care about - are calling for such and such.

Online petitions don't get anything done, unfortunately.

Unfortunately petitions are rarely successful. They can be good for raising awareness in some cases but they usually have very little effect on the outcome of their cause.

If any of you are truly concerned then I suggest, as well as signing the petition of course, writing a letter to your local MP. Just tell them you are an amateur mycologist and you are concerned that with the new rules you could inadvertently break the law while hunting for new specimens.

Obviously you could just put 'magic mushrooms are harmless this is just another example of your government's draconian approach to drugs blah blah blah...' but I'm sure if enough people do it they will at least raise the point. It is their job after all.

I think a change in the law was inevitable but I don't want to get busted on the way back from a hunt, IMO selling them is a different matter.

We can only hope the government makes the right decision for once...  :mushroom2:

There's no way anyone will take any notice. Even writing letters. There would have to be a much larger number written than I think there is to write them.

Fuck them. Just another in the growing list of reasons to get off this shitty island as soon as possible.

PS. Stonedphucker Welshie? First one I seen. Down here in Cardiff, Yoohoo

That sucks man.

Here spots are handed down from generation to generation . Keep hunting you'll find some eventually, I once spent 2 hours looking for amanitas musc. I found one!

Failing that just wait untill September and catch a train/coach across the border.

shit i can find plenty of amanitas, it's the other ones that are a bitch. Well last season i found a few good sub patches and next season is sure to be better!

You have a good time with the amanitas? I hear the best way to have a full-on experience is to eat one (or drink the juice or whatever) and then when you take a leak, drink that. Cuz yer piss has the concentrated active chemical in it.

haha ick, drinking yer own piss. ...umm this is all way off topic.

--

This possible mushroom banning thing sucks! I don't get why being in possession of something growing naturally could be illegal. Plenty of people could accidentally break the law. It's just silly!

Amanitas are one of those things i will have to do at least once in my life. I can't half ass it either. I will have to go balls out and do the whole ritual. Of course i hope to be somewhere in South American or New Zealand at the time. So it will make for perfect set and setting.

Hi Clone,

funnyt you should mention the perfect set and setting.

Actually it is where ever you are at the moment you decide to imbibe yourself with the Soma.

The Siberians and Cuuckchee and kamchadals and Finns and Laps do it in very cold environments in their villages. The woman of the tribal groups who use the Amanita muscaria first chew the shroom into a mess of globby goo. Then they give it to their male counterparts who swallow the shroom.

Later on they piss into a bowl or a cup and pass the urine drenched amanita juice to the poorer members of the tribe who canot afford the shroom. These people then drink the urine to get off.

Now that is a perfect set and setting.

have a shroomy day.
Mj,

The ritual of urine drinking was first noted in the 9th and 10th mandala of the Vedic scriptures, "The Rig Veda."
