i thought that it might be overlay because in the jar, it looked kind of like myc piss. are you positive it's a contam? it's in an isolation chamber, so n worries on spreading. could i crumble it and salvage or not what do you think?

it looks kind of like it's got wet spot... does it smell normal?

you're the only one that can make the call, but i wouldn't chance it in this case.

if you want to try a crumble and case, that's your business... but i personally wouldn't do it.

it smells like shrooms and co2. normal. and there are tiny bumps starting. primordia? nothing on the scabby part though. it looks sort of matted on the bad part at a closer look. i'm going to think about possible options to tossing it. any suggestions. i'm going to peruse the teks in awhile.thanks for any advice. you have helped me alot! this is only one cake out of 14, and i just cased 4 great looking cakes in 50/50 casing.

it probably is overlay, i remember seeing your post when you birthed it.

let it fruit, it's probably dying to get something out. i'd have put that ugly side down and tried to get it to pin from everywhere else.

i sterilized a fork and scratched the matted area as directed in some tek i read and flipped the cake to try and get it to pin. i have it in a fruiting chamber and have the temp at around 70 deg. far. i can't think of anything else to do. the cake is on a lid on perlite and humidity is good. been fanning around 3-5 times a day. anything else that you can think to do? i think that i pretty much did everything that there is to do.wish me luck!

raise the temps a little more like 75 i think that might help maybe dunk and roll/ cold shock if nothing happens soon

Looks like myc piss. Most likely your OK.If continuies to grow remove from friuting chamber.

You should see myc piss when using horse poo water.Realy bad.

I see your already experimenting on it.Cool.This is how we learn.Keep us updated.

CO2 has no smell. If it smells like mushrooms and something else..that could be a problem.

It looks like myc piss to me but could be a contam. The smell would probably be rancid and sour. Wish I could give a better answer but not without seeing it in person.

thanks people! i scratched the matted area and flipped it. i then misted the terrarium. raised the temp to 75. wish me luck. i'll keep you posted. also have a 4-cake casing that i'll update you with pics. just misted it. the temp is incubating temp.(around 83 deg. f.) god, i hope this works. i want to eat some of my own yeild. that is real neat to me. i have been really sterile in my work environment, but only time will tell if i was clean enough. like i said, wish me luck. i love you guys and will keep you posted.peace
